Testing people for marijuana impairment by measuring their THC levels is not reliable, according to a study published this month in The American Journal of Public Health . The study was funded by US government grant money; however, others contend that it is an example of the drug war’s failure to produce valid scientific data.
When it comes to testing for marijuana impairment, the accuracy of the test has been questioned. A prime example of this is in the case of drivers who ingest marijuana before driving and fail a sobriety test. These results have been challenged by many, as it is widely accepted that the THC blood level test is unreliable.
