To begin, I’d like to thank UpLateAnyWay.com for the recipe’s inspiration. This is an adaptation of their Almond Flour Biscuits, with a few changes. Check out that website; they have a ton of amazing Keto recipes!
Over the last several weeks, I’ve been experimenting with different Keto biscuit recipes, and this recipe is the result of many failed tries (and a lot of taste-testing!). The Ultimate Biscuits with Keto Cheddar and Jalapeno are here! I wanted to duplicate Red Lobster’s famed “Cheddar Bay Biscuits” without the carbs yet with all of the flavor. Red Lobster’s biscuits are the embodiment of excellence in every regard, so it’s a big assignment. If I had to choose between a night with Scarlett Johansson and a bakers dozen of CBBs, I’d probably go with Scarlett, but only after thinking about it for at least 30 seconds.

On this one, I channeled my inner Southern Grandma and kept the ingredient list to the bare essentials, with a few extras thrown in for good measure. It’s easy to hide a bad biscuit with a number of weird stuff, but happily for you, I’ve tinkered with the dough recipe enough to come up with an excellent tasting Keto Biscuit that can stand on its own. Basque Fryer (enter stage left)
This time, I went with a classic Cheddar Jalapeno variation. I also included a Basque Fryer pepper that I purchased at a local farmers market. It’s a mild pepper that gives the biscuits a particular peppery flavor, but it’s not as fiery as a jalapeno. I had no idea what it was until I got home and checked it up online, but it seemed interesting, so I grabbed it. I was disappointed to learn that it was referred to as a “Basque Fryer.” That’s perhaps the worst pepper name you’ll ever come across. Basque Fryer, Habanero, Jalapeno, Poblano Is it possible to abolish the French’s right to name peppers?
Fresh From The Oven!
I served these Biscuits with Keto Cheddar and Jalapeno with a rack of pork spare ribs for Sunday Dinner. I cooked the ribs for 3 hours and then added the biscuits for the last 20 minutes, ensuring that everything was hot at the same time! Each serving has 3g of net carbohydrates!
Pro Tip:
Allow a couple tablespoons of butter to come to room temperature before using. While the Keto Cheddar Jalapeno Biscuits are still warm, cut them open, butter them, and enjoy!
Keto Cheddar Jalapeno Biscuits
Biscuits made with low-carb almond flour and flavored with cheddar and hot jalapeo peppers.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place the butter in the refrigerator to keep it cold until we need it.

Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Baking Powder Almond Flour Salt/Pepper

To make a sandy consistency, mash your butter into the dry ingredients.

Mix in the cream and the egg until everything is well combined.

Combine the cheese, jalapeño, and parsley in a mixing bowl.

6 medium-sized balls should be formed and placed on a silicon baking mat or a cookie sheet.

Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 17-20 minutes.

Warm it up and enjoy it!
