There’s a term that’s used to describe the healthy weight loss journey: yo-yo dieting. It’s a simple analogy, really: you’re on a rollercoaster, riding up and down. Highs and lows. You feel good for a stretch, then you feel bad for a stretch. This might be the way it feels to lose weight. You start. You lose a lot of weight. You get frustrated. You stop. You start. You lose a lot of weight. You get frustrated. You stop. This is yo-yo dieting. But is there another route?

A lot of people start diets in January and February, usually because it’s the season for eating plans and diets. So, if you started a diet in January, just remember that it’s not too late to lose weight. In fact, you are probably ahead of the curve. There are no real rules on weight loss; however, there are certain ways to help you lose the weight for good.

In the past, week one was where a lot of people fell off the bandwagon. They lost a few pounds, got discouraged and quit. But that doesn’t have to happen to YOU! The truth is that losing weight takes time, effort and patience, but once you’re on the right track, you’ll have the tools to finally get the weight off and keep it off for good. Here’s how to get started:. Read more about i haven’t lost any weight in 2 weeks and let us know what you think.

Is it true that ketosis helps to decrease inflammation in the body?

I have acute inflammation throughout my body and was hoping to see whether a low-carb diet might help.

Jeanie

Inflammation seems to be decreased in certain individuals, and some studies have indicated that a low-carb diet reduces inflammatory markers. So, yes, maybe. However, it is possible that it is dependent on the source of the inflammation; if the cause is removed, the inflammation will certainly diminish.

Andreas Eenfeldt, please accept my heartfelt greetings.

What carbohydrate content should there be?

I began a week ago and have dropped 4 pounds while limiting my carbohydrates to 20 grams. Counting carbohydrates in grams is challenging since carbs seem to be present in almost everything.

I thought you mentioned in an interview that you eat around 5 carbs each day? If I’m not mistaken, how do you maintain your carbohydrates so low, and where do you obtain them?

Dave

It’s extremely tough to cut carbohydrates down to 5 grams per day, and no, I don’t do it myself.

That should bring you to 20 net carbohydrates per day, which is a lot simpler than 20 total carbs.

Andreas Eenfeldt, please accept my heartfelt greetings.

I haven’t dropped any weight yet in week one.

My weight is 156 kg, and I expected it to melt away, but the scale remained stationary. I’m a bit perplexed by a few things.

  1. Is there anything I should avoid eating? Or just eat till you’re satisfied?
  2. Do I need to keep track of my meals in order to know how much carbohydrates I’m consuming? Should I keep track of my calories?

Because I witness others’ accomplishment, I don’t want to give up. How can I alter this in order to lose weight?

Kim

Hey, Kim!

Weight reduction may take a week or more to show, particularly if you go from a calorie-restricted to a low-carb diet, which you need to feel full. Even if weight reduction takes a bit longer, I still think, as do most low-carb dieters, that it’s preferable to eat as much as you need to feel full.

Tracking carbohydrates and restricting them to 20 grams per day is a nice concept in the beginning, but I don’t advocate calorie restriction, particularly in the beginning. Instead, make it a habit to sense whether or not you are hungry, and only eat when you are.

Use our free two-week keto challenge to keep under 20 grams of carbohydrates each day without counting them.

Andreas Eenfeldt, please accept my heartfelt greetings.
