Advancing Health Equity and Public Sector Unions

Among the projects I’m working on, two might be of some interest to readers of this blog. I’ve been working on a commentary “Declining Economic Fortunes, Health Disadvantages and Faux Populism in the United States” for a health economics journal and the efforts of my (teacher’s) union to shore up support among members based on the certainty that the Supreme Court will rule in Janus v. AFSCME to strike down the requirement that public sector employees pay “agency fees”.

After considering a myriad of topics for this blog, I decided to write about the new, rather obvious, contextual environment for population health and health disparities, and more importantly about our role in it as community of scholars and alum of the Culture of Health Equity Network (COHE).
