Ketogenic diets have been all the rage in recent years, but they are not new in the sense that the whole idea was pioneered by a doctor in 1921. In fact, the ketogenic diet was first developed to help control seizures in children with epilepsy. The diet works by forcing the body to burn fat instead of glucose for energy, and in doing so, it produces ketones in the liver and kidneys for use as energy. Ketogenic diets are, of course, not for everyone, but if you do decide to give them a shot, you may want to know how to make the most of them.
With the keto diet, you have to learn how to manage your daily macros. Being low-carb is not for everyone. In fact, most people who are new to the diet may find themselves going through a period of time where they learn how to make recipes that are low-carb and still delicious. This is when they begin to experiment with different low-carb ingredients. If you’re of that type, here are some of the best low-carb ingredients to use for keto donuts that fit your macro needs.

Filling for cinnamon sugar doughnuts:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Mix the dry ingredients until fully combined.
In a separate large bowl, add the eggs, monk fruit sweetener, apple cider vinegar, almond milk and extract. Mix with an electric mixer for 1 minute. Add the dry ingredients and stir until all ingredients are combined.
Put the donut batter in the Ziploc bag. Cut about half of the corner to use as a piping bag. Pour 3/4 of the batter into the doughnut molds. Place the stuffed pans on a flat baking sheet so that they are upright when you put them in and take them out of the oven.
Bake in the preheated oven for 13-15 minutes. Allow the cake to cool completely before applying the icing.
To prepare the glaze
Slowly add the ingredients to a bowl and beat until thick and creamy. Let the glaze rest for a few minutes to thicken before adding it to the donuts. Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and place on a wire rack to cool. Sprinkle the top with sugar-free sprinkles (optional) while the frosting is still sticky.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
